I get all my news from the 12 Angry Men email discussions. Seriously, we should sell tickets to that some days.

My usual is a heavy noise-to-signal mix of the internets, mostly for entertainment rather than with an expectation of obtaining real information -- Instapundit, Google News, Fark, BBC News, Slashdot, Overlawyered, Intercepts, EcoGeek, JunkScience, Michael Yon and The Anchoress". I used to enjoy the level-headedness of Ed Morrisey at Captain's Quarters before he moved to Hot Air, but the new site isn't worth navigating when trying avoid the crazy.

It's a hazardous trail to tread, and it involves trying to find a real source and actual facts for any news I may happen upon, but it leads to interesting results.

When that fails, I turn to social commentary from Penny Arcade, PVPonline, Order of the Stick, Girl Genius, Questionable Content, xkcd, and Goblins. Recently, Indexed has joined in for a probationary period.

Was a long standing NYTimes reader. Then came the late but definitely not lamented TimeSelect, which pushed me to read the Washington Post. Turns out I liked the WaPo better in general. The main reason to see the NYTimes for Science Times, which is really nice.

Otherwise, I read The Atlantic, online these days, after over ten years of subscription. I like Megan McArdle's Asymmetrical Information (http://meganmcardle.theatlantic.com/), among others. I got a subscription to The New Yorker but don't read it much so I think I'm going to let it lapse (or give it to my dad). I read The Economist from time to time.
